The Van Market up in April
According to the latest registration figures the Van market shows signs of recovery in the first quarter of this year with a marked improvement during April. The heavier commercial vehicle market remains depressed which reflects the downturn in the economy over the last eighteen months.
Does this mean the future is looking brighter for the Van market?
As the recession took effect many companies put an immediate hold on vehicle acquisition and Vans in particular seemed to suffer. A high percentage of Vans are operated by sole traders or SME’s and this end of the market felt the pain of the down turn in market conditions very quickly. With economic confidence beginning to increase and the fact that many existing vans should have been replaced earlier has led to the potential of a real pent up demand. Lets hope the spectre of a hung parliament and problems in the euro zone will not put the brakes in this recovery.

It is fair to say that the van market has been hit hard and it is good to see a recovery. We all hope that the current politcial situation and problems within the eurozone doesn't have a negative effect on this recovery.
